Teak (Tectona Grandis) is a highly durable wood especially suited to being left exposed to natural elements for long periods of time with minimal maintenance. It is a wood with a high oil content making it flexible to extremes of temperature from mid summer to mid winter as well as being highly resistant to warping. All fittings on our teak garden furniture are brass so will not rust allowing for a long and trouble free life of your furniture.

We purchase our wood from the colonial Dutch plantations on the island of Java originally planted over 150 years ago by Dutch settlers. The area is now owned and controlled by an Indonesian Government agency called Perum Perhutani which controls the managementof a strict policy regarding felling and replacement by annual replanting.

We try wherever possible to use packaging of a recyclable nature and are pleased to promote the future welfare of this old established economy.
