All new computers built by us from 8 Jul 2008 and some refurbished units have a Service Tag printed on a label on the back of the base unit. Please enter this into the box belowand click the 'Go' button. For new computers built before 8 Jul 2008 and refurbished computers without a service tag please follow the instructions below the box.

The Service Tag entry box is not yet available, meanwhile please click here to select your service tag from our current support centre
All computers built or refurbished by us are given a computer name which identifies the date of manufacture or refurbishment. This is in the form: BPCS-YYMMDD-N where YY = year, MM = month, DD = day, N = serial no. for that day. E.g. BPCS-080714-2 was the 2nd computer built/refurbished on 14th July 2008.
Key to symbols used below: > = click, >> = double click, [xxx] = tab name or dropdown menu item, < = right click.
For computers with a Windows operating system > Start > Control Panel >> System >[Computer Name] and look for the line "Full Computer Name:"
For computers with a Linux operating system >System >[Administration] >[System Monitor] - the computer name is at the top of the popup menu.
You will not normally need to download additional or updated drivers for your Linux system, as these are included in the regular updates. If you have a specific problem please Email: support@bpcsbromyard.co.uk
The rest of this page applies to computers with the Windows™ Operating System
New computers built before 8 Jul 2008 and refurbished computers without a service tag
1. Identify your computer motherboard (aka mainboard). Provided you have not changed your computer name you should be able to identify this from the date of manufacture (see above) as follows:
New computers supplied from Jan 2007 - Nov 2007: MSI K8MM3-V (this board displays 'K8MM3-V' at the top left hand side of the screen briefly before Windows boots).
New computers supplied from Dec 2007 - Feb 2008: MSI K8MM3-V or MSI K9MM-V (the latter displays a large 'V-Class' logo in the centre of the screen briefly before Windows boots).
New computers supplied from Feb 2008 - 7 Jul 2008: ASRock AliveNF6P-VSTA
If you cannot identify your computer motherboard from the above details, then switch the computer off, disconnect the tower from the mains supply, and remove the right hand cover (looking from the back - normally just held on by 2 screws) and read the number off the motherboard.
2. Support for the various motherboards can be found below:
For the MSI Boards, first go to: http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downloadindex
Then either use MSI's live update feature or select manually as follows:
K8MM3-V: > Mainboard > AMD Platform > Socket 754 > VIA > VIA(r)K8M800 > K8MM3-V
K9MM-V:   > Mainboard > AMD Platform > Socket AM2 > VIA > VIA(r)K8M800 > K9MM-V
For the NF6P-VSTA board > http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=ALiveNF6P-VSTA&s=AM2
For refurbished Dell computers please go to the Dell support site and enter the original Dell service tag printed on the base unit.
A number of computers refurbished between March and December 2007 have one of the two Intel Desktop Boards D845GRG or D865GLC. You will probably need to open up the tower as described above to find out which one.
For the D845GRG go to: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=824&lang=eng
For the D865GLC go to: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=950&lang=eng
