Terms and Conditions of Sponsorship.                              SCHOOLS

1.   The fund will pay for school and accommodation fees for successful applicants to
      attend Secondary School each year. This will continue for up to 4 years per child,
      plus an extra 2 years where 'A' levels are taught, provided the Terms and Conditions
      are adhered to.
2.   The student will be selected primarily on results, but also on his/her background and
      head teacher recommendation. SEED will make the final decision.
3.   The Primary School Head Teacher, in consultation with other teaching staff, must fill
      in an application form to support each applicant. Where there is more than one
      applicant the head teacher should express an order of preference with reasons.
4.   The student must pass each year without failing.
5.   We must receive termly reports in English from the Secondary School.
6.   We must be notified if the student drops out for any reason or of any other problems
      that may arise.
7.   The Secondary School must ensure that the parents/guardians provide a mattress and
      other necessities (including uniform) for the student.
8.   Money will be transferred directly into the Secondary School bank account.
9.   The student must be given the opportunity to complete A-levels and university if
      possible. (N.B. SEED does not fund University).
10. On failure of the student or parents/guardians to keep the terms and conditions,
      SEED must be informed by the school with an explanation. SEED will then
      immediately terminate the funding.
11. The Schools must sign a copy of this form to agree to the above terms and conditions.
12. The Primary School and parents/guardians must also fill in an application form on
      the student's behalf.
13. The Secondary School must ensure that the child writes to his/her sponsors, in
      English, each term with help of Secondary School staff and that this letter is enclosed
      with the termly report.
14. All initial applications from parents and Primary Schools should be sent through the
      Primary School, as SEED has deposited money for postage in the Primary School
      bank account.
15. For applications to be considered the Primary School must send the forms within 1
      week of receiving the results.
16. A form must be returned confirming the attendance of each sponsored child at the
      Secondary School.
17. The Secondary School must let SEED know of school term dates and any changes in
      school fees.
18. The Primary School should promote SEED to standard 7 students to encourage
      enthusiasm for working for their exams.
